We at the AAFC pledge to do our best to provide you with solid and good ground and flight training by all members of the flight & ground instructors, Flight Ops personnel, Admin staff, CAMO and our maintenance crew to ensure that your training will be completed in the time you have and like to allocate. We will schedule your flight training to suit your busy schedule.

Flight instructors Captains Andreas (HOT), Omar (CFI), Albert (AFI&CTKI), Chow (FI & AE), Suneel ( TKI & 777 pilot),  Alfan ( FI & 737, ATR 72 pilot)Satyan (records and publications) Boji (FI and CFII FAA) Edmond (FI & CFII FAA), Yujin (flight operations), Jith & BoJun (admin), Hali & Sufi (CAMO)  Mutalib ( Chief Mechanic)

Familiarisation, this will be your first lesson and it is know as a sortie. This sortie will last for for 1.5 hours.

Flying experience will be 0.6 hours or around 35 minutes and will include a flight experience to the AAFC training area, you will have a chance to have a good look out on where we are and where the locations of various landmarks are.

This trip will take you to either Kapar or Port Klang or R236.

The remainder of the 1.5 hours will be utilised by understanding:

aircraft systems, Arrow documents, emergency drills, current flying regulations, tech log and authorisation, external checks, engine start, and engine warm-up.

I suggest you print out the respective checklist prior to your flight for the aircraft that you will be flying be it NCU, TFC, ZAR or JFA. You will need the right checklist as each aircraft is different, even they all look the same are are C 172’s.

Also on this lesson you will be shown Flight Plan, Manifest as well as Weight & Balance calculation chart. ( all these documents are available in the FORMS day to day section in SQUAWK)

Getting Your Private Pilot License (PPL) 6

Effect of control I is lesson number two and in this lesson, you will learn the effects of primary flight controls, effect of airspeed and slipstream, effects of trim, effects of power change. 0.8 hours or 50 minutes lesson.

Effect of control II is all about introduction to taxi, effects of power, flaps, engine controls, mixture leaning – carburetor heat use, and about airmanship. This lesson usually lasts for 0.8 hours or about 50 minutes.

Straight and level 1, looks easy, not easy. The instructor demonstrates to you a takeoff, thinks straight and level at constant poor and direction maintaining a constant height. you will be shown how to rejoin the airfield and the limitations of the engine.

Straight and level 2, follow through in taking off, and we will in this lesson to see how the aircraft flies straight and level at different power settings, as well as at specific airspeed. you will learn the effects of flaps. This lesson will take one hour.

Climb and descend I, after your takeoff, we exercise the climbing and descending of the aircraft and review straight and level. a one-hour training flight.
Medium turns, here we learn to do a 30-degree angle of bank from a straight and level flight and do climbing and descending turns. a challenging sortie that will take apron 0.8 hours or 50 minutes.
Descending 2, effects of flaps, power , base technique and a normal rejoin is being done in a one-hour training flight.
Clean stall, in this sortie we will enter a clean stall, see the signs of an approaching stall, the indications and actions when a wing drop is occurring. then we are recovering from this stall. A one hour sortie.
Stall 2, here we revise the previous lessons, and do a stall on the final approach, as well as the go-around procedures, we demonstrate a
circuit, overshoot and a flow-through for a normal landing. A one hour sortie.
Circuits 1 we are doing some circuit work, upwind and downwind, base and final leg as well as normal landings. A one hour sortie.

Circuits 3 is all about crosswind techniques as well as revision for circuits 1 and 2. gliding techniques and go around practice.

Steep turns & unusual attitude is practiced in this 0.8-hour sortie and steep turns of 45-50degree AOB as well as unusual attitudes recovery is on the menu.
Instrument flying 1, is all about learning to go without the hood, practicing rate 1 turns, medium turns & steep turns. clump and descents and coordinated maneuvers as well as unusual positions recovery techniques.
Instrument flying 2 is about a one hour sortie same as instrument 1 but this time with the hood.
Instrument flying 3 is as per 1 with hood and we are including a VOR approach in the training.
Instrument flying 4 is as per 1 with the hood and a limited panel, a challenging flight that will last one hour.
Practice Diversion is a 0.8-hour flight with practice diversion to WMKF. Demonstration of an instrument approach into WMSA.
